"Your poem has been on an incredible journey, everyone who has read it has been blown away by it's energy and uniqueness. It's brilliant. Not one negative comment. They all wanted it to be read by a voice from their own country. 😊
You have a rare talent..." - A.C
"Ever since I have been at the Roundhouse you have continued to blow me away with your incredible talent and last night took it to another level. You were absolutely fantastic, it was a really special night and I am so glad you could be a part of it" - Sasha C
Feedback from clients:
Abstract Benna is a South London-born Spoken Word performer of Bajan & Jamaican heritage. He started writing at the age of 8, inspired by his love for rap music and films. The ways in which words are put together to paint pictures and convey meaning resonated with him immediately which inevitably lead to him writing his own stories in the form of Rap lyrics. From the age of 5 his perspectives were shaped out of everything which gave Brixton its stand-out reputation: crime, culture, history, community.
Abstract Benna was lucky to find a pen as his tool and words as his outlet at a time when friends and family were gravitating towards the streets; he has always and continues to share stories, life lessons, memories and emotions in his poetry from the place that shaped him into the person his is today. That place being: Brixton, South London.
Spoken Word has brought him collaborations with familiar names such as:
The National Lottery | Roundhouse | NHS | BBC 5 Live | Top Banana | The Floacist | Lambeth Council | DFS
