I was the Inaugural Poet Laureate for Lambeth on October 27th 2022 – 2024, following the launch at Queen Elizabeth hall on the Southbank.

 

The vision: 

It's the people in this borough that supported me to do what I started out doing for fun. It hasn't been easy. Establishing the Poet Laureate tenure was for the writers who need a platform to give them some protective layers as they make their way through the glass ceiling. Being a writer, a creative, even an entrepreneur can be a lonely journey.

 

Having a whole borough behind you is the stepping stone we were striving for.
